RMG Associates has been retained by a leading employee owned Wealth Management firm located in the Seattle area. They are seeking a CEO to lead and grow an already successful firm with $1.75B AUM. This firm has an impeccable reputation in the industry. They take pride in their reputation not only as skilled wealth managers but as effective life builders.
The CEO will be responsible for the articulation and implementation of the firm’s strategic goals. The right candidate must possess a proven background in leading and growing a regional or national Wealth Management firm. This firm’s clients are predominantly in the Pacific Northwest and California. Ideally, the new CEO will have experience in these geographic markets.
The Firm offers a broad range of services to their clients. One of their primary differentiators is their non-conflicted, open architecture investment platform. The firm’s culture is one of clear values, high integrity, absolute transparency, and sincerity among all stakeholders. Stakeholders include clients, employees and shareholders. The CEO must fit with the culture. The CEO must possess mentoring skills and enjoy developing team members to reach their full career potential. As the spokesperson for the firm, the CEO will need to enjoy nurturing client relationships and building relationships in the business and philanthropic community.
The CEO, together with shareholders, Directors and the Executive Team, will chart the course for the Firm. The CEO reports to the Firm’s Board of Directors.
The CEO serves as the Chairperson of the four person Executive Team. Other Executive Team members are the team leader from Client Relations, Operations, and Investment Research and Management. The Executive Team is responsible for the growth-oriented and profitable delivery of quality multi-financial services to HNW (high-net-worth) individual and family clients. The CEO will provide the leadership necessary to balance the interests of all stakeholders. This includes development of team goals that are integrated and measurable and motivate team leaders to maximize their performance and the performance of their teams.
Core Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership direction by clarifying the Firm’s vision and mission.
• Facilitate communication among stakeholders
• Serve as the primary strategic interface with ownership, the public, and the community-at-large
• Draft and annually update the strategic plan
• Develop annual financial performance targets and manage the firm to achieve targeted results.
• Oversee business development and marketing efforts.
• Ensure financial, human, and technology assets are aligned with the strategic plan.
• Serve as Chairperson of the Executive Team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• 15+ years of leadership experience in a financial service institution servicing HNW clients and families
• Advanced degree preferred (MBA, JD, CFA, CFP, etc.)
• A broad range of experiences in both entrepreneurial and corporate environments that emphasize the delivery of superior professional services as well as proven business development.
• Proven experience in developing and executing a successful strategic plan that resulted in dramatic and profitable growth.
• Strong preference for experience in managing a large client-centric organization
• Ability to apply strong analytical skills, financial/business acumen, and strategic/tactical thinking to the planning and business process
• Proven leader, with excellent management skills, who excels at building and leading organizations
