We have been retained by a leading national multifamily office (MFO) to find two Regional Managing Directors (RMD). The RMD will lead regional teams serving ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients. The positions are in Seattle, WA, and Cincinnati, OH. This MFO is within a prominent, nationally-known financial institution. The MFO exclusively services clients with net worth in excess of $25MM.
This is a truly exceptional opportunity, to be part of the “ground floor” and contribute to building the MFO of this Top 10 US-based financial institution. The executive leadership, strategy, vision, and commitment from the institution makes this a rare career opportunity for a talented and qualified candidate to make an impact and help develop the division to national prominence. Ideally, the candidate will currently reside in either one of the two geographical areas, but the firm will consider relocating an outstanding candidate.
The MFO is building a platform and service model that is unique in UHNW family client advisory. The firm has been able to attract leading talent/intellectual capital in multigenerational planning, governance, family dynamics, and investment strategies. The platform includes: Open architecture investment management; values-based planning strategies in estate, tax, trust planning and fiduciary services; governance, stewardship and family education; cutting-edge technologies, personalized and sophisticated banking; accounting and bookkeeping, and a range of services that are customized to best serve the needs of the individual family client.
Requirements include: At least 10 years of UHNW family client advisory in deep, consultative roles which require subject area expertise. Advanced technical expertise that is directly relevant to UHNW clients (JD, LLM, CPA, MBA, CFA, CAIA, etc.). Demonstrated track record of success and leadership from consulting, law, accounting, or UHNW Wealth Management.
The RMD will be instrumental in selecting and building a team in his/her region. They will help construct and implement an industry-leading UHNW service model. The ideal candidate will be well recognized in the region, including activitiy/leadership in the philanthropic community. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated “thought leadership” skills via publications, speaking engagements, academia, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience with UHNW family clients in consultative context
- Advanced degree and/or certifications (JD, LLM, MBA, CPA, CFA, CAIA, etc.)
- Currently reside in either Seattle, WA, or Cincinnati, OH (or willing to relocate)
